ABOUT ME!

> WHOAMI

I go by many names across the Internet, but most call me Dud! I'm an ITC student from the midwest (US) and I go googoo-gaga over computer hardware/software, video game consoles, and web chicanery. I'm AGAB - assigned geek at birth and would appreicate being referred to as they/them pronouns for anonymity, but she/her or he/him is fine too. Most would describe me as stoic and introverted, but I can turn a whole-180 when I'm with people I'm close to. I'm also a self-shipper and have many fictional characters who are my friends or queerplatonic partners! I plan to create web shinres of things that bring me the most comfort, so stay tuned! <3

> WHEN DID YOU GET INTO TECH?

I grew up on the rural side of my state and became fascinated with the devices we had available at a young age. Our family computer ran Windows 2000, which would be used by me frequently to play CD-ROM games (specifically low-budget edutainment media). Even when I wasn't playing a round of Peggle or whatever kid painting program I messed with, I'd be exploring the graphical desktop interface, seeing what I could get my hands on and explore. Now that I reflect on all this, there was never a point where I lost interest in learning new things, and I believe that is what keeps me invested in all things ITC - it's ever-evolving right before our eyes.

What really kick-started an eventual career path towards IT was the game console modding scene when I was in middle school, specifically the Nintendo Wii's expansive library of Homebrew tools and exploits. Each console of mine that I softmodded and physically took apart for maintenance brought me a sense of purpose. I know, it sounds so stupid and cheesy just reading that, but I seriously cannot find myself doing anything else. Computers - their peripherals, components, and software - mobile devices, and other gadgets I've gotten my hands on, they're all so fun to learn and examine what their function is and how they work in detail. That childlike wonder that I had is still present today, and I hope to give others that same feeling as I assist them with technical issues.

> HOBBIES? INTERESTS?

Outside of tech stuff, my hobbies include creative writing (short stories, fanfiction, the occassional, insane ramblings in my notes app), reading, traditional art, watching movies/shows, and listening to music. I also like collecting plushies and keychains of my favorite things!

Items in bold are media or things I'm focusing on right now!
